SGA members Freestyle Technology Pty Ltd and Silver Spring Networks have announced an agreement to integrate Freestyle’s smart grid solution into Silver Spring’s open application and distributed microprocessor platform. The agreement will see the development of a range of smart grid applications that provide control and monitoring to new devices on the grid.

Freestyle Technology’s open application and distributed microprocessor platform links communications, metering and other systems across transmission, distribution, consumer and retail networks. The IP-based Smart Energy Platform of Silver Spring Networks allows enhanced connectivity between stakeholders, and offers the potential for better distributed monitoring and management for both utilities and consumers.
